I bought this book after seeing a copy at the Oregon Film Museum in Astoria (in the old jail from the movie) and talking with a guest there who was actually part of the film crew (he showed me his picture in the book). For anyone who is a Goonies fan, this book is filled with great stories and pictures and is the next best thing to actually being there during the filming. It was great for me after visiting all of the sites from the movie. I recommend to any fan of the Goonies.Product details

I love listening to movie commentaries. This is a fantastic addition to the fantastic commentary on the movie. It's an outsider's view of big budget movie making. It really only covers the stuff that happens in Astoria, but there are plenty of good stories to be had.

If you've ever wondered what it was like to get behind the scenes and get a non hollywood view of a film, this is it! And the movie is the Goonies! Coming 25 or so years after the movie, a young aspiring director lands an "internship" job with Goonies Director Richard Donner and finds himself on the set of the Goonies. This book is a great account of what it would be like to be a fly on the wall on the set. The author gives great account of the filming of this classic movie while it shot on location in his hometown of Astoria, Oregon. He has some great never before stories, as well as movie information never before recounted. This is a must have for any Goonies fan and even for those who enjoy a good behind the scenes book of a movie. Goonies never say Die!
